OUR GUARANTEE
Our goal is to make you happy and to make your custom experience memorable. At JMikael, there's never an excuse for an ill-fitted suit. Our goal is to deliver the quality and luxury of the traditional custom clothing experience at a cost effective price. This means we are committed to working with you until you are satisfied. Once your garment is complete, if needed, we cover 100% of any adjustments needed (within 45 days of delivery) and update your measurements in our system so your next order is even easier. Because each one of our garments is custom made specifically for you, we cannot offer full refunds. However, you can use the remaining credit for a full remake or put towards any other products offered.
BUSINESS MODEL
Where is your studio / store located? +
One of the ways we provide high quality products without the retail markup is by not operating a store front. Instead of overhead costs and hiring middle-men, we put the money towards our products and pass the savings on to you. Though our main operations team is in Washington, DC, all interaction with our clientele occurs through our network of personal clothiers in the comfort of your home or office.
How long will it take to receive my custom garments? +
Because each garment is made specifically for you, it’s a real form of art to what goes on behind the scenes. We work hard to do everything we can to deliver your clothes within 4-6 weeks of placing your order. In some situations, rush options are available for an additional fee to expedite your order. For weddings and other special occasions, it’s best to place your order 6-8 weeks in advance, as delivery timelines may fluctuate throughout the year depending on fabric stock, holidays, and queue capacity.
Do you have a minimum order requirement? +
We do not have a minimum order requirement.
Do you have an online catalogue? +
Our fabrics are constantly changing, and because of this we do not have an online catalogue of our fabric selections. If you'd like to see some examples of our work, check out our Instagram. Also, don't hesitate to call or email if you have a specific color or style in mind!
OUR FITTING PROCESS
How long does a fitting take? +
An average initial visit takes about 45 minutes which includes measurements, customization and fabric selection. Final fittings usually take much less time as it is just you and your clothier discussing the fit of the garment and discussing adjustments if need be. This usually takes about 20 minutes.
What should I wear during fitting day? +
To ensure accuracy of your measurements, please avoid pajama pants or loose fitting clothing. If possible, please have your best fitting suit jacket and pants -- we can use this foundational garment as a guide and adjust accordingly as we create your pattern.
Do you keep my measurements? +
After your final fitting, we take final sizes from your garments and store them, along with your paper pattern, for any future orders. As long as your measurements don’t change, you are free to order anything and we will ship the garments directly to you.
PAYMENTS
Which payment methods do you accept? +
We accept cash, debit, or credit cards. We require a non-refundable 50% deposit in order to begin making your garment. The nature of our made to measure business is such that each garment is cut specifically for each client and cannot be reused for anyone else.
GARMENT CARE GUIDE
Suits +
Jackets made from natural materials help the body ventilate and don’t need cleaning very often. To extend the life of your jacket:
- Dry clean only – Clean no more than four times per year
- If creased, press professionally, do not steam
- Spot clean with water and mild detergent
- The natural fibers of your suit need time to rest
- Avoid wearing more than two or three times per week
- After wearing, hang up in a ventilated space to ensure freshness and reduce wrinkling
Shirts +
Our fabrics are pre-shrunk, however cotton garments may shrink up to 3%. For best practice, we recommend you dry clean your shirts or:
- Remove collar stays, button up, and wash inside out
- Cold wash (30°C)
- Hang dry
- Do not tumble dry
- For easier ironing, iron while damp
Wool Trousers +
Wool is antimicrobial and naturally stays fresh. We recommend:
- Dry clean only – Clean once per month if worn frequently
- After wearing, hang up in a ventilated space to ensure freshness and reduce wrinkling
- For your favorite suits, we recommend buying a second pair of trousers, as they typically get more wear than jackets
Cotton & Linen Trousers +
Wash with care to avoid shrinkage and wear. We recommend:
- Cold wash (30°C)
- Hang dry
- Do not tumble dry
- When ironing, use a thin cloth between the iron and garment
